Impact and engagement

To find out if our approach was having an impact, in 2013 we began a project evaluate our impact using a contribution analysis. The project reviewed the role of intermediary organisations and the different ways they operate.

We reviewed the literature that inspires IRISS staff, conducted 45 interviews with people who use IRISS’ resources and surveyed Scottish social services sector about IRISS’ reach and impact.

One of the outputs of this research is a theory of change of intermediary work – a narrative which describes the journey from inputs and activities to outputs and outcomes.
