The findings are discussed using the Candidacy framework<\/a>. The framework ensures all aspects of the issues affecting access to services are fully considered and attempts to fulfil the recommendations of other researchers in this field who have called for a more holistic approach to this kind of research; one that takes into account the evident complexity that surrounds issues of race, culture, awareness and interaction when it comes to accessing services.<\/p>\n

Definitions of \u2018\u2018access\u2019\u2019 that are limited to service uptake or \u2018\u2018receipt of care\u2019\u2019 are clearly inadequate unless they also consider the process of accessing care, and the quality of care received by ethnic minority groups.
